2022 Museumverse Cohort

The Museumverse team was formed by a group of Princeton graduate students, including Mengge Cao, Michael Zhang, Shruti Sharma, Iheanyi Onwuegbucha, and Haosen Ge, who left the project in October upon the successful completion of his PhD program. The original goal of Museumverse was to empower arts and cultural institutions in their storytelling, community engagement, and object research through emerging technologies. Upon receiving the Flash Grant from the Humanities Council of Princeton University in June 2022, the Museumverse team designed and implemented a semester-long cohort program that engaged Central New Jersey museums and the Princeton community in a series of interactive presentations, workshops, and technical demonstrations.

The Museumverse Fall 2022 cohort comprised Robyn Brenner (Drumthwacket Foundation), Joe Murphy (Morven Museum & Garden), Stephanie Schwartz (Historical Society of Princeton), and Julia Gearhart (Visual Resource Center, Princeton University). With support from Stephen Kim and Zoe Kwok (Princeton University Art Museum), Leigh Anne Lieberman (Visual Resource Center, Princeton University), Ariel Ackerly (Makerspace, Princeton University Library), Gabe Baker (Frame VR), and Jefferey Yoo Warren (artist/community scientist), the cohort explored the potentials of 3D scanning and curating digital exhibitions to create an interactive experience in virtual reality.
